To comply with new policy for birth certificate application, DNA tests are obligatory for parents who have children before marriage or any one with foreign nationality, or other legal issues.
Why need a DNA test?
From 1/1/2016, regulation on birth registration has been updated with several new items which have to be taken into account;
1. If father/mother is a foreigner, it is required to perform a DNA test to identify the biological relationship.
2. If both parents are Vietnamese citizen, there are two circumstances:
Case 1: If parents do not have marital certificate at the time of children delivery and there is no dispute, children adoption and birth registration according could be processed at the same time. DNA reports are submitted as the evidence for both tasks.
Case 2: If there are disputes over children adoption, judicial officers would instruct the father to carry out the procedures at the Court. After the dispute is resolved, the birth registration would be allowed to go. A DNA report is a must in this case.
Consequently, DNA tests are compulsory for cases in which there are foreign factors or disputes. In normal cases, test reports would be considered as supporting evidence for accurate and favorable child adoption.
According the administrative regulations, DNA samples must be collected by staff of company, therefore donors have to present at our office for sample collection
